Rapid Growth of Liquid Restaking Protocols
What are Liquid Restaking Protocols?
Which Protocols are Worth Participating In?
As the Restaking track receives more and more attention from the market, the Liquid Restaking protocol developed around EigenLayer has also shown rapid growth in the past few months. According to data from DeFiLlama, the TVL of Liquid Restaking protocols has increased more than 8 times since the end of last year, with a total value of over $3.5 billion.
In order to further explore the potential opportunities in the Restaking track, DWF Ventures released an introduction to the track today, outlining the potential behind the concept of Liquid Restaking.
The reason why Liquid Restaking protocols have emerged is not only because these protocols can provide higher staking yields, greater ease of use compared to EigenLayer, and the ability to obtain “Liquid Restaking Tokens (LRT)” for participation in other DeFi protocols, but also the biggest attraction is the ability to earn points from both “EigenLayer+Liquid Restaking protocols”.
However, it should be noted that Liquid Restaking protocols are products that have undergone multiple smart contract packaging, and therefore carry higher protocol risks than simply “staking Ether”. This is the same concept as the “matryoshka” packaging during the past DeFi Summer period.
There are many Liquid Restaking protocols in the current market, and most of them have not yet been launched, so investors must seize the opportunity to participate. In addition to Ether.fi, which was launched earliest and has the highest TVL, other representative projects such as Puffer Finance, invested by Binance, and KelpDAO and Renzo, which have already launched their point systems, are also worth participating in.
Many DeFi projects have also started to integrate with LRT, including decentralized stablecoins, collateralized lending, liquidity mining, and currency markets in the DeFi field. We will see more and more DeFi protocols integrating LRT into their protocols in the future.
