Gracy Chen, General Manager of Bitget, was selected as a representative to attend the 68th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68), an important conference of the United Nations on gender equality and women’s empowerment. The event took place from March 11th to March 22nd, with the theme of “Eradicating poverty in all its forms and dimensions through a gender perspective: Ensuring empowerment of all women and girls”.
Gracy Chen actively participated in discussions on important topics such as empowering youth and women in the era of artificial intelligence, technology, and social media for achieving a sustainable future. These meetings aimed to promote inclusivity in cultural, social, and economic aspects, emphasizing the elimination of racism, raising awareness through innovative technology-driven strategies, exploring cultural diversity, and highlighting the role of international cooperation in community communication.
The 68th session of the Commission on the Status of Women provided a platform for governments, civil society organizations, experts, and activists from various countries to come together and reach consensus on actions and investments to eliminate women’s poverty and promote gender equality. The solutions discussed during the conference included policies and programs investing in addressing gender inequality, enhancing women’s leadership, and narrowing the gender gap in employment.
Gracy Chen’s participation in this session of the annual meeting also reflects Bitget’s vision for a fair future driven by the cryptocurrency revolution. Gracy stated, “The participants are committed to driving positive global changes, which inspires me. I look forward to applying the knowledge gained from this event to promote diversity and empowerment within the Bitget cryptocurrency community.”
Gracy further emphasized Bitget’s proactive attitude, stating, “We recognize the lack of representation and participation of women in the industry. Therefore, we commit to investing $10 million over the next few years in the Blockchain4Her program globally, which includes incubation programs, ambassador programs, and Blockchain Women Awards, to cultivate female entrepreneurial spirit and recognize women’s achievements in the blockchain and Web3 fields.” Several female industry leaders have already joined the program.
Bitget’s core value lies in envisioning a more equitable future world through the development of Web3 and cryptocurrencies, empowering different groups regardless of their cultural background, economic status, age, or gender. Bitget takes a proactive stance in promoting inclusivity in the Web3 field, attracting female opinion leaders to become role models in the blockchain industry.
