The issuer of stablecoin USDT, Tether, announced on Tuesday the expansion of its strategy in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and launched the recruitment process for its AI department, tether data.
Tether data will focus on the development of open-source AI models and collaborate with other companies to integrate these models into products to address real-world challenges. The department has already started recruiting for positions such as AI research lead and AI engineer.
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated in the announcement that the department aims to “redefine the boundaries of artificial intelligence and democratize privacy-protected open AI technologies.”
The newly established department builds upon Tether’s AI strategy expansion that began last year, when Tether invested in Northern Data, a company listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Northern Data transitioned from cryptocurrency mining to providing computing power for AI-related data processing.
