On Monday, American online brokerage Robinhood announced the launch of the “Prediction Markets Hub” within its app, providing customers with the opportunity to trade on the outcomes of several significant global events. At its inception, the hub will allow customers to trade contracts on the upper limit of the federal funds target rate in May, as well as the results of the upcoming men’s and women’s college basketball championships.
Robinhood stated that establishing an independent prediction market hub could serve customers more effectively, enabling them to participate in events closely related to their interests.
The Prediction Markets Hub and the corresponding contracts will initially be offered to U.S. users through Kalshi, a prediction market platform regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) (KalshiEX LLC). Robinhood announced that these contracts will start rolling out today and will be available to eligible users in the coming days.
