U.S. President Donald Trump Criticizes Fed Chairman Jerome Powell’s Slow Response to Monetary Policy
U.S. President Donald Trump criticized Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell on his social media platform, Truth Social, for his sluggish response to monetary policy. Trump pointed out that the European Central Bank is expected to cut interest rates for the seventh time, while Powell is always “too late and wrong,” directly stating that his report yesterday was, as usual, “a mess.”
Trump highlighted that prices for oil, groceries, and even eggs are declining, and that the U.S. is becoming wealthier due to tariffs. He asserted that the Federal Reserve should have cut interest rates long ago, similar to the European Central Bank, and emphasized that it is now imperative to do so, declaring, “The sooner Powell is out, the better!”
