US Prosecutors Oppose Extradition Ruling for Terraform Labs Founder Do Kwon to South Korea

According to Bloomberg, despite the ruling of the Montenegrin High Court allowing the extradition of Do Kwon, co-founder of Terraform Labs, to South Korea to face charges related to the collapse of the stablecoin TerraUSD (UST) causing losses of $40 billion in 2022, US prosecutors will continue to seek the extradition of Do Kwon.

In a statement on Thursday (7th), the US Department of Justice said:
This ruling is a victory for Do Kwon, as his lawyer had expressed a desire for him to be extradited to Korea. The Korean Ministry of Justice stated through a message that they have not yet received a formal notification from Montenegro. Once they receive the relevant documents, the Ministry of Justice will take necessary measures in collaboration with Montenegrin authorities.
