The issuer of stablecoin USDT, Tether, announced on Tuesday (26th) its expansion strategy in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and initiated the recruitment of its AI department, tether data. Tether data will focus on the development of open-source AI models and collaborate with other companies to integrate these models into products to address real-world challenges. The department has already started recruiting positions such as AI research leaders and AI engineers.
Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, stated in the announcement that the department will “redefine the boundaries of artificial intelligence and democratize open AI technologies for privacy protection.”
The newly established department continues Tether’s AI expansion strategy that began last year when Tether invested in Northern Data, a company listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Northern Data transformed from the cryptocurrency mining business to providing computing power for AI-related data processing.
