Tether, the issuer of stablecoin USDT, announced on Tuesday (26th) its strategic expansion in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and initiated recruitment for its AI department, tether data. Tether data will focus on the development of open-source AI models and collaborate with other companies to integrate the models into products to address real-world challenges. The department has started recruiting positions such as AI research director and AI engineer. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated in the announcement that the department will “redefine the boundaries of artificial intelligence and democratize open-source AI technology with privacy protection.” The newly established department continues Tether’s AI strategy expansion that started last year when Tether invested in Northern Data. The company, listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, transitioned from cryptocurrency mining to providing computational power for AI-related data processing.
