$2 Billion Bitcoin Sell-Off Announcement? US Government Sends 0.001 BTC Test Transaction to Coinbase Prime

According to online data, the wallet address labeled as “U.S. Government: Silk Road DOJ Confiscated Funds (starting with bc1qf)” recently sent 0.001 BTC to Coinbase Prime.


Since receiving 30,000 bitcoins a year ago, this address has not sent any transactions. Today’s transaction of 0.001 BTC to Coinbase Prime is considered a test transaction, possibly in preparation for future large transfers and sales. The total holdings of this address amount to 30,175 bitcoins, with a total value of nearly 2 billion US dollars.
The last time the US government sold bitcoins was in March 2023. At the end of 2022, the US government seized approximately 50,000 bitcoins related to the Silk Road website and sold 9,861 bitcoins at a price of 216 million US dollars.
