Farewell Event for Kabosu, the Iconic Dogecoin Meme, Scheduled for This Sunday

According to the recent update shared by the owner Mr. Sato on his blog, the original dogecoin meme dog Kabosu passed away on Friday morning (24th). Mr. Sato stated that a farewell event for Kabosu will be held on May 26th from 1 pm to 4 pm at Kaori Flowers, located in Inzai, Chiba Prefecture, Japan.
In a post, Kabosu’s owner said, “To all the people who have loved Kabosu for a long time, I am truly grateful. I believe Kabosu was the happiest dog in the world, and I was the happiest owner in the world.”

After the news broke, the price of dogecoin (DOGE) briefly rose by about 9%, followed by a decline. As of the time of writing this article, the price is $0.164.
