Avalanche Shutdown for Two Hours! Founder Clarifies: Unrelated to Inscriptions, Solely Due to Code-Related Errors

According to data from the blockchain browser, the Avalanche protocol has not produced any blocks for about 2 hours, and the latest block is stuck at 20:02 UTC+8. Developers are currently conducting repair tests in the network and working hard to fix the issue.

Regarding this matter, Kevin Sekniqi, co-founder of Ava Labs, initially believed that it might be due to the popularity of the newly released script causing problems with the network memory pool. However, he later clarified that the shutdown was not related to the script and the issue was a mismanagement of the gossip-related memory pool.
Kevin Sekniqi stated, “This is purely a code-related error and not a performance issue. The script seems to have encountered an edge case but did not affect the network’s performance.”
