Binance CEO in Talks with Select Jurisdictions to Determine Global Headquarters Location

According to The Block, Richard Teng, the CEO of Binance, stated at the Paris Blockchain Week event that the exchange is in talks with a few jurisdictions to decide where to establish its global headquarters.

Under the leadership of its founder Changpeng Zhao, Binance has consistently claimed that it does not have a fixed headquarters, which has been a major point of controversy in terms of regulation. In response to this issue, the current CEO Richard Teng had previously stated in an interview in December that the headquarters is still under consideration, and Binance will announce a global headquarters at an “appropriate time”.

Co-founder of Binance, Yi He, also expressed in the community that in order to better fit the image of a “financial institution”, Binance will establish a headquarters and board of directors as soon as possible.

According to a previous report by Zombit, Binance has fulfilled its commitment to establish a board of directors. The exchange disclosed the list of the first appointed board members on its official website. According to the information on the website, the board consists of seven members, including Binance CEO Richard Teng and three other internal executives – Heina Chen, Jinkai He, and Lilai Wang. It also includes three external members, Gabriel Abed, Arnaud Ventura, and Xin Wang.
