Invitation extended to Bitget's Managing Director Gracy Chen to discuss Gender Equality Program at the United Nations Women's Commission

Leading global cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 company, Bitget, has announced its participation in the 68th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68). This event, which focuses on gender equality and women’s empowerment, will take place in New York from March 11th to 22nd. Bitget’s Managing Director, Gracy Chen, has been invited to attend as a representative to highlight the company’s commitment to enhancing women’s empowerment and promoting gender equality in the Web3 field. Gracy will also share her insights and participate in discussions on how Bitget can contribute to promoting gender inclusivity in the technology and blockchain sectors.

Gracy emphasized Bitget’s commitment to gender equality and stated, “Enhancing women’s leadership capabilities and providing equal opportunities are the cornerstones of Bitget’s Blockchain4Her initiative. I am delighted to participate in the UN Women’s annual meeting, where we can share insights and learn from respected leaders in this field. Attending as a representative will further optimize Bitget’s strategies, aligning our goals with organizations worldwide to effectively drive gender equality and diversity in the cryptocurrency domain.” Gracy Chen once again emphasized Bitget’s commitment to promoting gender equality.

The 68th session of the Commission on the Status of Women will focus on discussions around “accelerating gender equality and empowering all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender equality perspective.” United Nations statistics indicate that 0.3% of women globally live in extreme poverty, highlighting the urgent need to accelerate progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, requiring an additional $360 billion investment.

Bitget’s emphasis on gender equality is evident in its various initiatives, including activities and programs targeting women. Recently, Bitget’s research department conducted a study on gender equality, highlighting the gender gap in fundraising for blockchain startups during the period of 2022-2023. The report revealed that blockchain startups led by women received only 6% of the overall funding, with women-led startups accounting for 8% of the total.

In January of this year, Bitget launched the Blockchain4Her initiative with a $10 million investment, aiming to promote gender diversity and inclusivity in the blockchain industry, with several female industry leaders already joining the program.

Bitget’s core value lies in envisioning a fairer future world through the development of Web3 and cryptocurrency, empowering diverse groups regardless of cultural background, economic status, age, or gender. Bitget has actively taken a stance towards inclusivity in the Web3 field, attracting female thought leaders as exemplary figures in the blockchain industry.
