"Mt. Gox's System Glitch Leads to 'Double Compensation'! Creditors Seek Revenge: Complete KYC Verification and We'll Repay You in 10 Years"

Recently, many users on the overseas community platform Reddit have expressed that after a 10-year wait, Mt. Gox has begun to send compensation in Japanese yen through PayPal to users who have chosen cash repayment. Many users have shared screenshots of the emails they received. At first, they thought it was an online phishing scam, but they believed it was true after confirming that the funds had indeed been deposited into their PayPal accounts.

However, shortly after, several members in the community reported receiving duplicate payments from Mt. Gox and shared official emails from Mt. Gox. In the emails, the bankrupt exchange admitted to a system error and requested that the creditors return the incorrectly paid additional compensation.

As more and more members in the community raised the same issue, discussions about whether to return the additional compensation began. Some members jokingly suggested that Mt. Gox should complete identity verification and wait for another ten years before making repayments.

However, others warned users who received duplicate payments to repay them promptly to avoid legal consequences.
