OpenAI, a leading artificial intelligence startup, announced on Wednesday that it is rolling out an Advanced Voice Mode to all ChatGPT Plus and Team users. This feature enhances the real-time and fluidity of conversations with ChatGPT, and introduces custom instructions, memory functionality, five new voices, and improved accents.
According to OpenAI, ChatGPT Plus and Team users will receive notifications in the app when they gain access to the Advanced Voice Mode. After testing, iPhone users have been able to use the Advanced Voice Mode after updating ChatGPT. They can choose from five new voices, namely Maple, Spruce, Sol, Vale, and Arbor, bringing the total number of voices in ChatGPT to nine.
OpenAI states that the Advanced Voice Mode includes custom instructions, allowing users to personalize how ChatGPT responds. It also includes memory, enabling ChatGPT to remember previous conversations for future reference. Additionally, it improves conversation speed, fluency, and accents for specific non-English languages.
Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, also announced the launch of the Advanced Voice Mode on social media platforms. He mentioned that the rollout would be completed within a week and gradually made available to Plus and Team users.
