Pump.fun allows anyone to quickly deploy their own meme coins at a low cost. All they need to provide is a name, code, and JPG image, without requiring any startup capital. The liquidity funds are raised from the community. When the market value of the token reaches a certain threshold, the liquidity will be automatically deposited into Raydium and LP tokens will be burned. Although only a few tokens have been successfully launched, these tokens have brought considerable fee revenue to pump.fun.
Pump.fun has sparked a trend among overseas celebrities, who create and promote their own tokens using their own image. However, most of these celebrity coins have experienced significant declines in value. Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin has publicly criticized this practice.
