Rijndael, a contributor to the Ordinals protocol and also the Chief Technology Officer of Taproot Wizards, a Bitcoin ecosystem NFT project, stated on the X platform that he has come up with a method to allow Bitcoin nodes to reject blocks containing inscriptions. He called on opponents to integrate this code instead of just making empty slogans.
Rijndael said:
Furthermore, Rijndael publicly challenged inscription opponents to either run the code or admit on X that they are merely pretending to be noble.
However, in fact, this code itself seems to have little technical significance and appears more like Rijndael’s retaliation and mockery towards inscription critics.
James Check, the chief analyst at Glassnode, believes that even with strong criticism of inscriptions within the community, this software is unlikely to be widely accepted. He also stated that this issue has created a stalemate similar to the “Mexican standoff” on the Bitcoin network. James Check said:
Furthermore, Rijndael himself admitted that it only took him about 15 minutes to create this script and hinted that the script could easily be circumvented by changing the fingerprint of Ordinals.
