Trump Claims Cryptocurrencies are Widely Used, Implies No Crackdown if Elected

According to a report by CNBC, US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stated that he has seen widespread use of cryptocurrencies and indirectly indicated that if he is re-elected, his government will not use regulatory power to crack down on the use of Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.

Although Trump stated that he does not own Bitcoin himself, he has allowed people to use Bitcoin for payments in the past. Trump also revealed that he has made money through cryptocurrencies and derived enjoyment from it, referring to cryptocurrencies as “crazy new currencies” and pointing out that “people are using them.”

Trump also mentioned his recently launched “Never Surrender High-Tops” sneakers and noted that many buyers paid with cryptocurrencies. However, according to Decrypt’s report, which states that the sneakers were originally priced at $399, it seems that they can only be purchased with a credit card, and Trump’s statement cannot be verified.

Nevertheless, Trump described himself as a traditionalist when it comes to currency and does not want people to move away from the US dollar. He said:
